Job Description
Job Title: Solutions Architect – Senior Consultant (contract) Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end solution architecture for UK government and business clients, aligning technology designs with business objectives, commercial constraints, and governance standards. Develop comprehensive architecture blueprints, communicate strategies to governance boards and delivery teams, and ensure delivery of high‑quality, secure digital services. Expectations: • Deliver solutions that demonstrably improve client business outcomes and operational efficiency. • Maintain UK Security Clearance (SC or eligibility) and comply with all security and quality policies. • Apply GDS toolkit and industry‑standard architecture frameworks to meet client needs. • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and a facilitator for cross‑functional delivery teams. Key Responsibilities: 1. Own the solution lifecycle from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategy. 2. Create detailed architecture blueprints covering business, data, application, and technology layers. 3. Present solution designs to governance boards, stakeholder groups, and delivery teams, securing buy‑in and approval. 4. Guide delivery teams on implementation, ensuring adherence to agreed architecture and standards. 5. Conduct stakeholder analysis and build relationships with senior decision‑makers. 6. Leverage Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices to manage the development lifecycle. 7. Evaluate new and emerging technologies for practical application in client solutions. 8. Produce and deliver business benefit statements and proposals to demonstrate value. 9. Prepare and present case‑study proposals during the interview process.
