**Job Title:** Buying Manager **Role Summary:** Oversee the entire life‑cycle of a product category from concept through delivery. Collaborate with merchandising and production teams to align buying strategy with seasonal market insights, brand identity, and customer preferences. Lead the buying team, set style‑creation targets, and ensure accurate, data‑driven purchasing decisions that meet quality and trend expectations. **Expectations:** - 5–10 years of fast‑fashion vendor buying experience. - Proven ability to negotiate and maintain supplier relationships. - Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales data interpretation. - Leadership capability to guide cross‑functional teams and weekly performance reviews. **Key Responsibilities:** - Own category from development to delivery, ensuring alignment with brand and trend forecasts. - Partner with merchandising to define departmental strategy using seasonal SWOT and past collection lessons. - Plan category options and spend to meet departmental forecasts. - Direct product development to create new styles, meeting monthly KPIs for style quantity and innovation. - Make decisions on product and fabric adjustments to satisfy quality standards and market demand. - Conduct trend and fabric research to inform purchasing choices. - Review and approve production samples, maintaining high quality and consistency. - Lead and mentor the buying team, fostering collaboration and alignment with company objectives. - Facilitate weekly sales meetings to analyze performance, share insights, and refine strategies. **Required Skills:** - In‑depth knowledge of fast‑fashion buying and trend analysis. - Strong negotiation and vendor‑management skills. - Data analytics for sales and inventory insights. - Leadership and team‑management capabilities. - Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising or a related field. - Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in fast‑fashion apparel buying.
