Job Description
Job Title: Developer (.NET) Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain web applications using .NET Core and JavaScript as part of a digital change team. Work in agile, multidisciplinary environments to deliver high‑quality, user‑centric services that meet Government Digital Service (GDS) accessibility, usability, and security standards. Expectations: - Apply strong technical expertise in .NET Core and modern web technologies. - Collaborate proactively, share knowledge, and adapt quickly to evolving business needs. - Maintain a user‑first mindset while delivering on time and within quality requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Build and extend web solutions with .NET Core, JavaScript, and related front‑end frameworks. - Participate in agile ceremonies (sprints, stand‑ups, retrospectives) and contribute to backlog refinement. - Ensure code meets accessibility, usability, and security guidelines (GDS standards). - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (design, product, QA, operations) to define and deliver features. - Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing codebases for performance and reliability. - Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in coding, testing, and deployment. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and shape engineering culture. Required Skills: - Proficiency in .NET Core web development and JavaScript (including frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar). - Experience in agile development and working within multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines. - Understanding of accessibility, usability, and security standards (preferably GDS). - Strong problem‑solving, communication, and influencing abilities. - Ability to deliver high‑quality products in pressured environments. Required Education & Certifications: - Relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Certifications or training in .NET Core web development (desirable). - Certifications or training in JavaScript and other web technologies (desirable).
