Job Description

Job title: Interim Group Financial Controller Role Summary: A high‑impact, 15‑month interim role covering a maternity leave for a private‑equity backed international telecom operator. Responsible for leading global group finance, ensuring IFRS‑compliant reporting, strengthening controls, managing audit transitions, and driving finance transformation, including D365 migration and automation. Expactations (Key Expectations): • Deliver accurate, timely group financial statements and statutory accounts under IFRS. • Oversee complete audit cycle and manage the FY26 auditor transition. • Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks, accounting policies, and regulatory compliance. • Lead and develop a global finance team, fostering collaboration with senior stakeholders. • Champion finance transformation initiatives to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: • Lead group financial reporting, consolidation, and IFRS statutory accounts. • Manage external audit processes, including FY26 auditor transition. • Own and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory compliance. • Build, coach, and manage a global finance team, collaborating with senior stakeholders. • Oversee month‑end close for multiple entities and currencies. • Drive finance transformation projects: D365 migration, automation, process optimisation. • Enhance data quality, reporting dashboards, and operational efficiency across the finance function. Required Skills: • Qualified accountant with deep IFRS expertise and technical accounting knowledge. • Proven experience in multi‑entity, multi‑currency financial consolidation. • Strong audit leadership: guiding clean audits and auditor transitions. • Expertise in internal controls and regulatory compliance. • Demonstrated success in finance transformation, process improvement, and change management. • Experience with ERP migrations, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI. • Telecom industry background preferred. Required Education & Certifications: • ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA or equivalent UK accounting qualification. • IFRS certification / advanced IFRS coursework. • Proven experience with finance transformation and ERP systems.
