Infrastructure Architect / Virtualization Expert
**Role Summary**
Design, specify, and oversee the implementation of virtualized data‑center infrastructure, ensuring alignment with functional and application architecture, technical standards, cost, and schedule constraints. Lead consolidation, POC workshops, and technical documentation while managing budgets and stakeholder relationships.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high‑quality, performance‑driven virtual infrastructure on time and within budget.
- Demonstrate mastery of virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, NSX, KVM, Kubernetes, Proxmox, Nutanix, public cloud).
- Maintain current knowledge of market evolutions, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Analyze functional/application architectural dossiers to specify servers, storage, LAN/WAN, security, middleware, and cloud services.
- Drive consolidation and modernization of shared virtual platforms in data centers, addressing security, performance, resilience, and storage requirements.
- Facilitate technical workshops and lead proof‑of‑concepts; perform critical comparative analyses of virtualization solutions.
- Produce detailed technical architecture dossiers, installation guidelines, and resilience, storage, network, and security documents.
- Plan and coordinate the deployment schedule, resource procurement, and installation activities.
- Verify implementation against specifications, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Manage budgets, credit utilization, and procurement processes, including tender documentation and evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders (BPAH/CH) and maintain strong relationships.
- Contribute to service catalog updates, standards evolution, and internal documentation.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and professional forums.
**Required Skills**
- Virtualization platforms: VMware (vSphere, NSX), KVM, Proxmox, Nutanix, Kubernetes, major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Network and security architecture for virtual environments.
- Technical documentation, architecture modeling, and requirement specification.
- Project management, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- POC design, facilitation, and performance benchmarking.
- Procurement and tender process knowledge (technical specifications, offer evaluation).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; negotiation and stakeholder management.
- Automation and scripting (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Python) – preferred.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Relevant virtualization certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher, Nutanix Certified Professional, or equivalent.
- Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or GCP Engineer) are advantageous.
- Certifications in network security (e.g., CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+) beneficial.
