**Job Title:**
Adobe Commerce Technical Architect (Contract)
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, implementation and delivery of complex eCommerce solutions on the Adobe Commerce (Magento) platform. Own architecture documentation, drive technical excellence, and ensure solutions meet business objectives, architectural principles, and industry best practices.
**Expectations:**

- Act as the primary technical liaison between clients, internal delivery teams and third‑party vendors.
- Mentor junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Stay current with platform updates, emerging technologies and best practices to recommend improvements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Develop baseline and target architecture designs for applications, integrations, data and technology layers.
2. Produce mid‑low level technical specifications for lead developers, including application, interface and database design.
3. Conduct design workshops, architecture reviews, and communicate complex designs to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
4. Coordinate with third‑party vendors to agree on integration designs and resolve technical trade‑offs.
5. Evaluate design impacts on business requirements and propose alternate solutions when necessary.
6. Estimate effort for design and implementation of large‑scale eCommerce projects and support migration and go‑live planning.
7. Own the technical delivery, ensuring code quality, performance, scalability, and security standards are met.
8. Lead knowledge sharing sessions with architects and developers to align on architectural patterns and best practices.
9. Monitor technology trends (cloud, micro‑services, web components, eCommerce platform updates) and recommend adoption for new or existing projects.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep knowledge of application and integration architecture, data architecture and relational database design.
- Extensive experience with Magento/Adobe Commerce, PHP, and full project life‑cycle development.
- Proficiency in MySQL, caching (Varnish, Redis), search (Elasticsearch), message queuing (RabbitMQ) and related technologies.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, Client‑Server architecture, security (encryption, access control), performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with modern design approaches: component‑based architectures, micro‑services, cloud‑native deployment.
- Excellent written and oral communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Proven technical leadership in client‑facing and internal delivery teams.
- Ability to estimate effort, manage scope, and drive projects to successful completion.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Certified Adobe Commerce Architect (required) and Adobe Commerce Developer – Expert (preferred).
- Demonstrated certification or practical experience with Elasticsearch, Redis, Varnish and RabbitMQ is advantageous.
