Job Description
**Job Title:** Aircraft Engineer – Mechanical **Role Summary:** Support mechanical aircraft maintenance activities under the direction of a B1‑licensed Aircraft Engineer. Perform daily checks, scheduled maintenance, component replacements, rectifications, and refueling while ensuring compliance with OEM data, company procedures, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to safety management and continuous improvement within a regulated aviation environment. **Expectations:** - Adhere to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) technical standards. - Operate independently yet in close coordination with supervising engineer. - Maintain accurate, timely documentation and certifications. - Work flexible hours including recovery missions and occasional travel away from base. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct daily checks, scheduled maintenance, defect rectification, and component replacements in accordance with OEM publications and company procedures. - Certify completed work and sign maintenance actions within authorized scope. - Complete worksheets/work cards, report additional defects, and issue extension work cards as needed. - Control and record all materials and company equipment; ensure proper tool control and loose article procedures. - Verify calibration and serviceability of test and ground support equipment before use. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance facility, tools, and employee areas. - Assist in monthly workplace inspections and report findings. - Support ground movements of aircraft when directed by supervisor. - Perform additional duties reasonably requested by management within role capabilities. **Required Skills:** - Strong written and spoken English with basic mathematics competence. - Proficiency with basic maintenance hand tools and MS Office suite. - Ability to follow risk assessments, technical instructions, and safety procedures. - Team‑oriented, trustworthy, and physically fit for manual aircraft maintenance tasks. - Excellent communication, customer focus, and continuous improvement mindset. - Self‑motivated, confident, and able to work with minimal supervision. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Aviation Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification covering English, Maths, and Physics. - Aviation experience on pressurised and/or unpressurised aircraft essential. - Security clearance meeting current UK and ITAR requirements. - Knowledge of human factors and safety principles. ---
