Job Description

**Job title**: Senior Data Scientist **Role Summary**: Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning and AI solutions to modernize life insurance underwriting workflows, transforming unstructured medical data into actionable insights. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑impact data‑driven models that improve underwriting accuracy and efficiency. - Integrate large‑language models (LLMs) and agentic frameworks to automate data processing and decision support. - Partner with underwriting, actuarial, and technology teams to identify and prioritize process improvements. - Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a collaborative research environment. - Communicate complex findings to stakeholders through concise reports and presentations. - Remain current on industry trends and emerging ML technologies. **Key Responsibilities** - Build, test, and scale predictive models using Python, SQL, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn, and other ML libraries. - Process and feature‑engineer unstructured medical records for inclusion in underwriting models. - Design and implement LLM‑driven workflows to automate routine underwriting tasks. - Conduct exploratory data analysis on large, heterogeneous datasets to uncover insights. - Draft technical documentation and model deployment plans for production use. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data requirements and success metrics. - Provide mentorship and code reviews to junior team members. **Required Skills** - Proficient in Python, SQL, and modern ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn). - Experience applying large‑language models to build agentic data pipelines. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present technical results to non‑technical stakeholders. - Proven teamwork and collaboration in cross‑functional environments. - Familiarity with life/health insurance underwriting processes and regulations is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. - 8+ years of technology‑focused data science experience, preferably within the life/health insurance sector. - Relevant certifications (e.g., TensorFlow Developer, AWS Certified Machine Learning) are desirable but not mandatory.
