Job title: M&A Security Engineer
Role Summary: Conduct technical security due diligence and post‑merger integration activities, ensuring data, infrastructure, and applications meet security policies and standards.
Expactations: Deliver comprehensive security assessments, recommend controls, implement security tooling, and support incident response during M&A events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre‑deal security reviews and breach analysis of acquisition environments.
- Evaluate and remediate firewall rules, network protocols, and high‑risk configurations.
- Conduct static/dynamic code analysis on in‑house applications.
- Design secure integration solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Deploy and manage information security tools post‑close.
- Liaise between acquired units and corporate teams for incident response.
- Compile and report security metrics to leadership.
- Facilitate adoption of M&A security playbook processes.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years Information Security experience + 3+ years general IT.
- 2+ years M&A security work.
- Expertise in Windows, Active Directory, Linux, O365, AWS, Azure.
- Knowledge of TCP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPN, EDR, web proxies.
- Understanding of SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC.
- Experience with vulnerability assessments, patch management, SIEM, syslog.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST 800‑53, SOC 2, PCI, SOX regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and risk‑prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; executive presence.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
- Preferred certifications: GSEC, CISSP, AWS Security Specialty.
