**Job Title**
Manufacturing Shop Operations Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead day‑to‑day operations in a small‑to‑medium manufacturing plant, overseeing multiple shifts in assembly, fabrication or machining. Responsible for achieving performance targets, maintaining continuous improvement, ensuring safety, managing costs, and delivering customer‑approved products on schedule.
**Expectations**

- Build and coach high‑performance, psychologically safe teams.
- Communicate effectively across departments, unions, suppliers and customers.
- Own strategic planning, forecasting, and execution of the annual operating plan.
- Champion health & safety, continuous improvement, and cost‑saving initiatives.
- Resolve critical customer issues with precision and responsiveness.
- Deliver results under pressure and report clear business metrics.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for plant/shift productivity, quality, cost, and safety.
- Lead the creation and execution of annual operating plans, forecasts, and production schedules.
- Drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance process efficiency.
- Cultivate talent through coaching, training, performance reviews, and career development planning.
- Maintain and continuously improve safety programs, HIRA implementation, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage material planning collaboration to ensure timely availability and delivery of components.
- Oversee cost‑saving projects and budgetary control, reporting variances to senior management.
- Liaise with union partners to negotiate agreements, resolve work‑hour issues, and maintain smooth operations.
- Provide on‑site support to technical and service teams for critical customer issues, ensuring rapid resolution.
- Ensure accurate accounting support for Engine‑Out‑of‑Warranty (E&O) and related financial records.
- Travel within the USA as required to support operations, audits, and stakeholder meetings.
**Required Skills**
- Proven leadership and team development in manufacturing or production environments.
- Strong planning, forecasting, and resource‑allocation capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; adaptable to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making under pressure.
- Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Solid understanding of safety management systems and regulatory compliance.
- Budgeting, cost‑control, and financial reporting proficiency.
- Experience negotiating and working within unionized plant settings.
- Customer‑centric mindset with a focus on delivery reliability and issue resolution.
- Ability to travel across the United States.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience in remanufacturing or high‑volume production operations, including managerial responsibility.
- Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, HAZOP/HAZOP‑S, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of export control and sanctions compliance may be required for certain roles.
