Job title: Head of Data & AI
Role Summary: Senior executive leading LGC’s data remediation, governance, and AI strategy. Drives data quality, infrastructure, AI project delivery, and ethical compliance to generate business value.
Expactations:
- Develop and execute a data and AI roadmap aligned with corporate objectives.
- Build a robust, scalable data and AI infrastructure for analytics, integrations, and automation.
- Champion responsible AI, ensuring regulatory, ethical, and governance standards are met.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a cross‑functional data and AI team.
- Represent data and AI initiatives at the executive level, influencing strategy and investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remediate, enrich, and govern critical commercial, financial, and scientific data assets.
- Design and implement scalable data and AI architectures (cloud‑based primary).
- Identify, prioritize, and deliver high‑impact AI use cases.
- Refine and enforce data governance, quality, integrity, and privacy frameworks.
- Chair the AI Governance board, coordinating standards, controls, and stakeholder alignment.
- Embed data‑driven insights across decision‑making processes.
- Allocate resources, set budgets, and manage multi‑functional AI/projects.
- Forge partnerships with vendors, academia, and industry.
- Translate technical solutions into clear business value for C‑suite audiences.
Required Skills:
- Leadership of data science, ML/AI teams (≥5 years).
- Expertise in data governance, data quality, privacy regulations (GDPR, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of ML algorithms, statistical analysis, data modeling.
- Cloud platform proficiency (AWS or Azure).
- Project management, cross‑functional team leadership, budgeting.
- Strong communication and presentation to executive stakeholders.
- Ethical judgment and commitment to responsible AI.
- Change management and organizational transformation experience.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Certifications in data governance (e.g., CDMP), cloud (AWS/Azure AI/ML) or project management (PMP/PRINCE2) are advantageous.
