**Job Title** Contract Manager – Public Works / Engineering Projects **Role Summary** Lead end‑to‑end contract management for the Canal Seine Nord Europe project, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, financial performance, and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle. **Expectations** - Deliver projects on time, within budget, and with maximal margin. - Minimise financial and legal risk, ensuring robust contract compliance. - Drive continuous improvement in contract performance and stakeholder collaboration. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Contract Lifecycle Management** – analyze project scope, manage tender to close, evaluate changes and supplementary remunerations, validate subcontractor approvals, and maintain accurate contract documentation. 2. **Legal‑Operational Interface** – coordinate between legal, procurement, and operational teams to ensure clear understanding of obligations and alignment on contract terms. 3. **Commercial & Margin Optimization** – analyze project evolution, identify commercial levers, and assess impact on margins; review and negotiate MOE contract amendments. 4. **Financial & Risk Oversight** – monitor financial exposure, process contractual variances, develop mitigation plans, and maintain a detailed risk register for potential claims. 5. **Stakeholder Management** – engage clients, suppliers, and service providers; build claim dossiers, evaluate success prospects, and support negotiations with legal support. 6. **Continuous Improvement** – track key indicators, refine processes, and collaborate with project and OPC teams to update risk and action plans throughout the project. **Required Skills** - Deep knowledge of public works contracting, French and EU regulations. - Proven contract negotiation and change‑order management. - Financial analysis skills to assess contracts and improve margins. - Risk identification, documentation, and mitigation strategy. - Strong communication and stakeholder interface abilities. - Detail‑oriented documentation with audit‑ready record keeping. - Proficiency in contract management tools (e.g., MS Office, SAP, FoxProject). - Fluency in English; French + English highly valued. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or related field (or equivalent). - Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public‑works contract management. - Professional qualification in contract or procurement management (e.g., CPC, CPMA) preferred. ---
