Job Description
Job title: Data Scientist – Alternative Credit, Senior Associate / Associate Role Summary: Data Scientist on the Alternative Credit team developing quantitative models for asset‑backed lending, analyzing loan‑level and pool‑level data to assess collateral performance, credit risk, and portfolio behavior, and automating data pipelines to support investment decisions. Expactations: • Deliver robust, reproducible models and analyses that inform investment strategy. • Maintain high data quality and efficient workflows for continuous monitoring. • Communicate insights clearly to portfolio managers and senior leadership. Key Responsibilities: • Design and implement Python‑based forecasting, valuation, and risk analysis models for structured credit. • Analyze loan‑level and pool‑level datasets to extract insights on collateral performance, credit risk, and portfolio behavior. • Automate ingestion, cleaning, and transformation of diverse financial datasets. • Build and maintain data pipelines for model input and reporting. • Present findings and recommendations to portfolio managers and senior investment leadership. Required Skills: • Python (pandas, numpy, scikit‑learn, matplotlib/ seaborn or similar). • Statistical modeling, time‑series analysis, and machine learning. • Data manipulation, cleaning, and ETL pipeline development. • Strong analytical and quantitative skills. • Ability to translate technical results into actionable business insights. • Effective written and verbal communication. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics). • 2–4 years of experience in data science, analytics, or investing. • Demonstrated interest in finance (preferred but not mandatory).
