Site & Systems Engineer
**Role Summary**
Provide hands‑on installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced machine‑vision and sensor systems on UK rail assets and at a Derby production facility. Work independently on site, managing safety, documentation, and client interactions while supporting new project surveys and ongoing operations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Liaise with clients to schedule site‑based activities and develop risk assessments and method statements.
- Design, build, configure, test, install, and commission machine‑vision cameras, laser measurement systems, thermal sensors, embedded Linux platforms, IP networking, and GPS/4G/5G devices.
- Conduct on‑site work safely, maintaining organized and secure work areas.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, collaborating with team members.
- Create and maintain technical and test documentation, including specifications and reports.
- Participate in unit/location surveys for prospective projects with the Business Development team.
- Report faults, hazards, and incidents to management.
- Support other site operations as required.
**Required Skills**
- Proficient in installing and commissioning advanced industrial sensors and embedded Linux systems.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, GPS/4G/5G communications, and machine‑vision technologies.
- Ability to develop and apply risk assessments, method statements, and safety procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation, and specification writing.
- Self‑motivated, reliable, proactive; able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit, able to carry out manual tasks and travel across the UK.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- UK driving licence (mandatory).
- Experience in industrial/rail environment projects; rail industry experience and certifications (e.g., engineering training, safety/health, or rail-specific qualifications) are desirable.
- Successful completion of a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check required.
