Job Title: Senior Manager, Systems Engineering and Operations
Role Summary: Lead a global data center engineering team to design, operate, and optimize secure, highly available hybrid infrastructures spanning on‑prem and cloud environments. Drive strategy, architecture, cost analysis, and vendor relations for server, storage, and platform services.
Expectations: • Manage, mentor, and grow a cross‑functional team of 5–10 engineers.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Exhibit strong customer‑service orientation, partnering with leadership and external stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues.
• Maintain continuous improvement through cost‑benefit analysis, automation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction and roadmap for data center, server, storage, and cloud operations.
- Design and deploy secure, highly available hybrid solutions across on‑prem and cloud (AWS preferred).
- Conduct cost analysis and identify savings opportunities in on‑prem and cloud hosting.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technology solutions, including automation, orchestration, and containerization.
- Partner with leadership to identify needs, diagnose problems, recommend solutions, and oversee implementation.
- Lead hands‑on support for projects, initiatives, and daily operations.
- Negotiate purchases, renewals, and contracts with vendors to optimize cost and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with SOX, ITGC, and ITIL frameworks.
- Manage patching, monitoring, and incident response for a global IT infrastructure footprint.
Required Skills
- 7+ years technical infrastructure experience (Windows Server, Linux, VMware ESX).
- 5+ years people‑management experience.
- Deep knowledge of data center operations, storage (SAN, NFS, Object), and cloud architecture (AWS).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools: Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience with cost‑benefit analysis, automation, and service optimization.
- Strong vendor‑management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and customer‑service focus.
- Ability to multitask and deliver high‑priority projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional, or equivalent are preferred.
