Job Description
**Job Title** Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner – Tier 3 Weight Management **Role Summary** Provide psychologically informed weight‑management support to adults with complex obesity via remote modalities (phone, video, smartphone app). Operate within a multidisciplinary team, applying CBT/ACT principles to influence eating and activity behaviours and to screen for eating‑disorder risk. **Expectations** - Deliver flexible, client‑centred interventions on an as‑needed basis (0‑hour contract), maintaining a client‑list and adaptive scheduling. - Work autonomously, managing clinical risk and seeking guidance from senior staff when necessary. - Ensure rigorous clinical documentation, confidentiality, and compliance with data‑protection regulations. - Participate in ongoing professional development and supervision to sustain BABCP registration. **Key Responsibilities** - Conduct initial psychological assessment and risk screening for weight‑management suitability. - Develop and implement individual treatment plans, drawing on CBT, ACT, weight‑management protocols, NICE guidelines, and evidence‑based research. - Deliver one‑to‑one therapy remotely (phone/video/app) focusing on behavioural change in diet and physical activity. - Coordinate with dietitians and other MDT members to integrate care plans. - Create and update accurate clinical records in line with internal guidelines. - Maintain patient confidentiality and secure data management. - Produce patient‑facing or internal content as required for service delivery. **Required Skills** - Proficient in CBT/ACT and weight‑management theory. - Strong clinical assessment and formulation abilities. - Ability to manage time, set priorities, and maintain caseload independently. - Excellent verbal and written communication; effective teamwork skills. - Comfortable with electronic health record systems and digital therapeutic tools. **Required Education & Certifications** - BABCP registration (or equivalent). - Postgraduate Diploma as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (or equivalent). - Minimum 1 year experience in an IAPT service and 1 year experience in weight‑management or bariatric mental‑health settings. ---
