**Job title**
Cloud Platform Engineer – AWS, Linux
**Role Summary**
Design, build, and operate scalable, secure AWS cloud infrastructure. Drive automation, Kubernetes deployment (EKS), and infrastructure-as-code, collaborating with engineering, security, and SRE teams to deliver high‑performance, cost‑efficient, and resilient services.
**Expactations**
- 2–5 years of commercial cloud platform engineering, focusing on AWS
- Strong command of Linux, networking, and cloud security fundamentals
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure automation (Terraform, CI/CD) and Kubernetes operations (EKS)
- Ability to lead platform architecture discussions and influence decisions across teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and maintain AWS environments (EC2, EKS, RDS/Aurora, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, CloudFront, IAM)
- Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters on EKS, scaling and automating deployments (blue/green, canary, rolling)
- Write and maintain IaC with Terraform, integrating into CI/CD pipelines
- Enhance platform resilience through autoscaling, high availability, and fault‑tolerance strategies
- Strengthen observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and CloudWatch; create structured alerting
- Embed security best practices (IAM, secrets, WAF, compliance) at all layers
- Conduct on‑call duties, post‑incident reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Optimize cost and performance through proactive automation and resource management
**Required Skills**
- AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS/Aurora, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, WAF)
- Infrastructure‑as‑Code: Terraform
- CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent)
- Kubernetes operations on AWS (EKS)
- Linux system administration, networking, security
- Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, CloudWatch)
- Database management (migration, HA, backup, DR)
- Scripting/automation: Terraform, Python, Bash
- Communication, teamwork, problem‑solving
**Required Education & Certifications**
- 2:1 or higher degree in a technical discipline (preferred but not mandatory)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification highly desirable.
