Job Title: Data Scientist
Role Summary:
Apply advanced machine learning to multimodal biological data—including imaging, time‑series, and metadata—to accelerate microbiological diagnostics. Own the full data science lifecycle from exploration to production, collaborate across engineering, biology, and product teams, and drive continuous improvement of analytics capabilities.
Expectations:
- Minimum 3 + years of industry data science or applied ML experience.
- Proven ability to develop, deploy, and monitor predictive models at scale.
- Strong command of Python and libraries such as scikit‑learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow.
- Hands‑on experience with computer vision and modern neural network architectures for vision tasks.
- Ability to write production‑ready, testable code following engineering best practices (CI/CD, version control, unit testing).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Awareness of fast‑paced, autonomous work environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and scale ML models for multimodal biological datasets.
- Manage the end‑to‑end data science pipeline: data acquisition, cleaning, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Partner with engineers, biologists, and product specialists to translate lab data into actionable insights.
- Contribute to core data/ML architecture and maintain clean, scalable codebases.
- Prototype and test cutting‑edge ML approaches, including classical algorithms, deep learning, and computer vision techniques.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, data manipulation, and ML libraries (scikit‑learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience with computer vision and deep learning for image analysis.
- Knowledge of version control (Git), testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), Docker, and MLOps tools is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty, TensorFlow Developer Certificate) are a plus.
