**Job title:** Functional Analyst – Banking Sector
**Role Summary:**
The Functional Analyst collaborates with business and IT teams of a major banking client to analyze, design, and govern functional specifications for critical banking solutions ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and regulatory alignment.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver detailed functional designs for various banking processes (payments, investments, fraud, compliance, cards, etc.).
- Ensure solution integrity through coordination with technical analysts, developers, and test teams.
- Identify and drive corrective actions, provide transparent reporting, and support project governance.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Analyze banking processes, translate requirements into functional designs and use cases.
- Coordinate with technical analysts and developers to validate solution alignment and quality.
- Define test scenarios, prepare test data, and orchestrate test execution with the Test Coordinator.
- Identify corrective actions, monitor implementation, and document resolutions.
- Report progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
- Liaise with business teams to confirm solutions meet operational and regulatory needs.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven experience as a Functional Analyst within the banking or financial sector.
- Proficiency with analysis tools/methodologies (UML, BPMN, RUP, Aris, Visio, Enterprise Architect, Jira).
- Strong understanding of banking compliance, security, regulations, data quality, and risk management.
- Structured, quality‑driven mindset with ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Bilingual fluency in French and English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI‑PBA, or equivalent in business analysis or process modeling are advantageous.
