Job title: Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer (General Civils and Residential)
Role Summary:
Lead and deliver high‑quality civil engineering design and project management for residential and general infrastructure schemes. Drive technical solutions, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements across the UK.

* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of civil engineering standards, guidance, and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Design & Delivery** – Produce detailed design drawings, calculations, and documentation for highways, drainage, levelling, and plot engineering.
2. **Project Leadership** – Oversee the full project lifecycle: scoping, design, procurement, construction, and hand‑over.
3. **Team Management** – Assign tasks, prioritise workload, and mentor junior engineers and support staff.
4. **Stakeholder Coordination** – Liaise with clients, local authorities, environmental agencies, and contractors.
5. **Regulatory Compliance** – Prepare submissions for street, drainage, and building approvals; secure watercourse consents (S104/S38 agreements).
6. **Contract & Finance Management** – Administer contracts, budgets, programme schedules, and resource allocations.
7. **Quality & Standards** – Apply Manual for Streets, CIRIA SuDS Manual, Sewerage Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, and local authority design standards.
8. **Technology Utilisation** – Create models and drawings using AutoCAD, Civil3D or similar; perform drainage modelling with Causeway Flow or equivalent.
Required Skills:
* Civil engineering design expertise (highways, drainage, levelling, plot engineering).
* Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D (or equivalent), and drainage modelling software.
* Numeracy and software literacy.
* Contract, programme, and financial management experience.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Required Education & Certifications:
* BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent related discipline.
* Minimum 6 years post‑graduate civil engineering experience.
* Chartered or Incorporated status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE).
