**Job title** Cyber Technologies & Solutions Degree Apprenticeship **Role Summary** A 12‑month apprenticeship for UK nationals that blends classroom learning, professional training and hands‑on experience in cyber security. Apprentices work within a defence‑focused team to identify and mitigate cyber threats, develop hardware‑and software‑based solutions, and contribute to classified projects that protect national security. **Expectations** * Complete the full apprenticeship programme, including a university degree in a STEM field. * Maintain a high level of security clearance (Developed Vetting) throughout the role. * Demonstrate continuous learning, initiative, and the ability to adapt to evolving cyber threats. **Key Responsibilities** * Participate in the full cyber life‑cycle: threat detection, vulnerability assessment, exploitation, and remediation. * Work with real hardware and software platforms to analyse systems and identify weaknesses. * Collaborate with scientists, engineers and intelligence specialists to design and implement security tools. * Contribute to classified projects, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Defence Ministry protocols. * Attend training sessions, workshops, and industry events to stay current on emerging cyber technologies. * Perform documentation tasks, including incident reports, security assessments, and design specifications. **Required Skills** * Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. * Basic knowledge of programming (Python, C/C++), networking, and operating systems. * Understanding of cyber security concepts: vulnerabilities, exploits, secure coding, and threat modelling. * Effective communication skills for teamwork and reporting. * Ability to work under supervision, follow procedures, and maintain confidentiality. **Required Education & Certifications** * Minimum of 96 UCAS points (e.g., A‑levels, BTEC, NVQ Level 3). * Core subjects: Computing, Physics, ICT, Electronics, Maths. * Five GCSEs Grade 9‑5 (A*‑C) including English and Maths. * UK nationality and residence for the past 10 years. * Visa status: Only UK nationals eligible; dual‑national candidates may apply if already holding relevant clearance. ---
