**Job Title:** Lead Infrastructure Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid IT infrastructure. Drive continuous improvement, ensure high availability, scalability, and security, while mentoring a team of infrastructure engineers and managing complex escalations.
**Expectations:**
* Deliver high‑availability, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions.
* Guide and mentor a team of engineers.
* Manage incident response and disaster recovery plans.
* Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Architect and design on‑prem, cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), and hybrid infrastructure solutions including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V).
* Manage core services: Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms, firewalls, disaster recovery.
* Deploy and administer cloud platforms and virtualized environments.
* Ensure 24/7 system availability, monitor performance, and implement business continuity plans.
* Automate infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, shell scripting, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
* Maintain monitoring and alerting using Zabbix, Prometheus, or Nagios.
* Enforce security best practices and support compliance audits (ISO 27001, CE+).
* Lead, supervise, and mentor infrastructure engineers; promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
**Required Skills:**
* 7+ years of IT infrastructure engineering or systems administration.
* Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V).
* Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, Ansible).
* Experience with monitoring systems (Zabbix, Prometheus, Nagios).
* Knowledge of networking, storage, and disaster recovery concepts.
* Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage.
* Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and documentation abilities.
* Proven team leadership and project management experience.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional, Red Hat Certified Engineer) preferred.
* Eligibility for UK SC Clearance (minimum 5 years UK residency).
