Job title: Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security Project Engineer
Role Summary: Deliver end‑to‑end cyber security and industrial networking for OT/ICS projects. Responsible for design, implementation, testing, and documentation of secure PLC, HMI, SCADA, and network infrastructures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project performance targets.
Expectations:
- Own technical delivery of OT network management and cyber security controls.
- Manage own tasks, milestones, risks, and issues while coordinating with project teams.
- Ensure projects meet time, quality, and cost objectives.
- Provide technical support to project and commercial management, including sub‑contract oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and test secure OT networks (EtherNet/IP, CIP, etc.) and systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA).
- Deploy and validate networks and cyber security controls, including firewall, managed switches, and NIDS.
- Conduct system integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and project lifecycle activities (vulnerability management, patching, password control).
- Produce and maintain technical documentation: design specs, test procedures, operating & maintenance manuals.
- Coordinate with Lead Automation Engineers, OT Cyber Security Manager, and Project Engineering Management team.
- Provide health and safety leadership and support project risk and commercial governance.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in OT/ICS network design, implementation and testing.
- Hands‑on expertise with Hirschmann network switches, firewalls, NTP appliances, and OT security hardening.
- Ability to harden PLC, HMI, SCADA systems per industry standards (ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, NIST SP 800‑82).
- Strong knowledge of OSI/TCP‑IP, industrial protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus/TCP, Profibus, Profinet).
- Solid troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience with QMS processes and delivering well‑documented outputs.
- Project lifecycle experience from specification through commissioning.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Professional certifications preferred: CISSP, CISM, CCNA/CCNP Security, or ISA/IEC 62443‑4‑1.
- Relevant post‑graduate diploma or professional training in OT/ICS security is an asset.
