Job Description: Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Role Summary: Design, build, deploy, secure, and monitor scalable data pipelines and data stores using cloud and open‑source technologies, ensuring data quality, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. Expectations: Deliver robust, high‑performance data solutions in an Agile environment; collaborate cross‑functionally with architects, analysts, and stakeholders; evaluate and adopt emerging data engineering tools and best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines and data stores. - Develop and maintain ETL processes using Snowflake, Matillion (or Matillion DPC), dbt, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and AWS services. - Perform routine data quality checks, data remediation, and ensure data integrity. - Embed security, compliance, scalability, and reliability into data solutions. - Work with Data Solution Architects and global teams to capture requirements and translate them into technical specifications. - Monitor pipeline performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize throughput and cost efficiency. - Stay current on industry trends, evaluate new technologies, and recommend improvements. Required Skills: - 5+ years of data engineering or related experience. - Proficient with Snowflake, Matillion (or equivalent), dbt, Kafka, Spark, and AWS analytics services. - Strong SQL/DBT skills and experience designing data models. - Experience with data quality frameworks, data governance, and compliance. - Familiarity with Agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines. - Ability to work cross‑functionally in B2B/B2C domains (Finance, Consumer, Commercial, P&C, Supply Chain, Product, Life Sciences). - Knowledge of Salesforce, ERP, and finance systems is an asset.
