Duties and Role:

Specific duties for this post:

Perform service continuity improvement tasks on the NATO voice & VTC infrastructures;
Support innovation efforts related to voice and video conferencing technology;
Work with the project management team and provides technical support to projects to enhance and improve the existing infrastructure and services;
Plan, test and carry out routine configuration and maintenance operations within the voice and VTC domains;
Be prepared to support maintenance activities and infrastructure deployments during out of business hours;
Coordinate and raise CRQs (change requests) and ASIs (authorised service interruptions) when needed;
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation (configuration baselines, engineering reports, network diagrams, etc.) and provide training for other team members on new technologies and features;
Mentor and/or coach team members on new voice and VTC technologies or features;
Investigate and propose long-term solutions to encountered equipment and configuration problems;
Provide third level support to the operations team for both static and deployable voice and video conference infrastructures when needed;
Deputize for higher-grade staff, if required
Perform other duties as may be required

Requirements

Skill, Knowledge & Experience:

The candidate must have a currently active NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET security clearance
A minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience
Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post
At least 2 years' experience designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing collaboration tools and platforms within a digital ecosystem of an organization
Experience deploying communication and collaboration software (such as video conferencing systems, team messaging applications, and document sharing platforms)
Proven experience in the configuration and operation of Voice and VTC core systems and end devices
Proven experience in deployment and configuration of security features in the voice and VTC domains (TLS, PKI, IPSec, etc.)
Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to resolving QoS and technical issues in complex IP networks
Excellent knowledge of SIP, H.323 and PSTN signalling protocols
Good working knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
Experience providing end users support
Training/Certifications: Certified ITIL Foundation

Education, Experience and Training (Desirable):

Experience with collaboration solutions from major vendors like Cisco, Poly and Pexip
Qualification of Cisco Certified Network Professional Collaboration (CCNP Collaboration)
Experience with monitoring platforms and protocols such as CA Spectrum, nGenius One, SNMPv3, Syslog, etc
Scripting experience ideally in Python and experience using regular expressions
Experience with cloud-based collaboration solutions like Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex
Ability to navigate, influence and negotiate with all levels of the organization, business partners, customers and users
Strong communication skills and the ability to be concise in both written and verbal communications
Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including Allied Command Operations and Allied Command Transformation
