About the Role:
As the Associate Channel Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of executing our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy within your assigned retail channels, using the Triple Win model to drive value for customers, the company, and shoppers alike. You'll take ownership of the integrated activity plan, translating strategy into action by developing and cascading execution standards for distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing (DSMP). Your analytical skills will be key as you support Channel Managers and the Director with insights drawn from Nielsen data and sales inputs, helping to shape decisions around distribution, pricing, promotions, and displays. You'll also lead the development and release of key seasonal materials, including the summer deck, Translations, Seasonal Demand Template, Seasonal Catalogue, and Merchandiser Calendar.
This position is hybrid and will be based in our Canada Commercial office in North York.
Main Responsibilities:
Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution
Lead Go-to-Market planning for Nutella Spreads & Nutella&Go, including DSMP (Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, Pricing) standards
Align cross-functionally with Brand Marketing, Category Management, and Customer Teams
Define launch KPIs by class of trade and contribute to brand/channel/customer budget planning
Develop trade investment strategies and in-store activity calendars by session and channel
Set in-store execution objectives and manage display tools/formats
Collaborate on growth and profitability plans with Customer Teams, Marketing, and Category Management Build pack/price architecture frameworks to support strategic channel and customer opportunities
Ensure timely and effective innovation launches aligned with customer lead times
Monitor competitive activity and integrate insights into business plans
Align with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Trade BI on trade spend and promotion planning
Analytics & Operational Support
Provide analytical support using Nielsen and SAC/TMA tools
Support seasonal and everyday portfolio planning and execution
Develop merchandising calendars and seasonal brochures
Prepare customer-ready sales presentations for launches and in/out items
Maintain seasonal templates and coordinate translations for sales decks
Analyze display mixes and provide recommendations
Coordinate innovation sample distribution with Sales Executive Assistant
Maintain monthly tracker for everyday confectionery
Who we are looking for:
3+ years in roles involving channel development, category management, or retail strategy
Bachelor's degree required
Strong knowledge of Ferrero's brands, strategy, and Perfect Store models
Solid understanding of Canadian retail landscape and industry best practices
Proficient in Nielsen and syndicated data; category management experience
Familiar with Ferrero systems (SAC, TMA) and Customer Business Team processes
Skilled in project and process management
Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Customer-focused with ability to balance internal priorities
Self-motivated, able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Team-oriented with a track record of meeting deadlines
