DevOps Engineer - Commodity Trading | Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid (London)

Location: London (3 days/week onsite)

Duration: 6 months

We're hiring an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting global derivatives trading environments. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with deep expertise in commodity trading systems, market data platforms, and real-time analytics frameworks.

What You'll Be Doing:

Manage and improve critical end-to-end trading workflows
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, support, and technical business users
Act as a subject matter expert for trading systems and regulatory compliance (e.g. MiFID II, EMIR)
Support scalable algorithmic trading technology and participate in global on-call rota
Drive proactive system monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements

What We're Looking For:

8+ years in Commodity Trading, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking
Strong knowledge of global futures exchanges and full trade lifecycle
Expertise in market data platforms (Bloomberg, Refinitiv) and liquidity aggregation
Deep understanding of financial regulations (MiFID II, EMIR, FCA)
8+ years supporting real-time market data distribution platforms (e.g. RTDS, DACS, ADH, ADS)
5+ years working with time series analytic frameworks (e.g. kdb, shakti)
Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL)
Proven FIX engineering experience and vendor certification
Familiarity with EMS/OMS platforms (TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen)
Experience with messaging systems and network protocols (TCP, multicast)

Excellent communication with traders, developers, and stakeholders
Calm under pressure in fast-paced trading environments
Proactive, flexible, and self-motivated
