Job Role:
Amalfi Jets is seeking a motivated Backend Software Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to contribute to building scalable, high-performing applications. You will work closely with our frontend engineers, product managers, and leadership team to design, develop, and maintain backend systems that power our core platforms, while also contributing to DevOps initiatives that ensure stability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain Laravel backend and React/TypeScript frontend
Develop responsive user interfaces using modern tooling JavaScript/TypeScript and CSS frameworks (Tailwind/CSS)
Integrate 3rd party RESTful API services
Implement and optimize database schemas, queries, and performance tuning
Contribute to DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following best practices
Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning
Make architectural decisions and recommend technology solutions
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories
Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Strong self-management and time management capabilities
Experience using JIRA or similar project management tools
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Qualifications:
2-5 years of professional experience as a backend or full-stack engineer
Strong proficiency with Laravel (PHP) and experience integrating with React, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend tooling
Working knowledge of DevOps tools and practices (Docker, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, etc.)
Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and RESTful API design
Proficient with version control systems (Git) and agile development practices
Experience with complete project lifecycle from conception to production deployment
Familiarity with cloud platforms and server management
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to ownership and learning
Bonus:
Experience with additional technologies like Vue.js, Node.js, or mobile development
Previous startup or agency experience managing multiple projects
Understanding of UX/UI principles and design systems
Schedule:
This position full time, on-site at our Global Headquarters in Calabasas, California, Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 4 PM.
Compensation:
Annual Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 USD
