Our client is a Canadian bank exploring new models to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its branch network. Focus areas include tellerless branches, centralization of select activities, small-medium transaction optimization, and resource sharing across branches.

This project is in the early exploratory stage. They are considering how branch operating models can better align with market strategy and seeking a consultant to provide expertise, insights, and innovative approaches based on prior experience in branch network design and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess current branch network operations and identify efficiency gaps.
Advise on innovative branch models (e.g., tellerless, centralized hubs, shared resources).
Align branch operations with overall market and business strategy.
Provide recommendations for process optimization and resource allocation.
Serve as a thought partner during proposal development, with potential to support execution if project advances.

Qualifications

Prior management consulting experience (MBB or FS-specialist firm preferred).
Broad exposure to retail banking branch operations and diverse branch models.
Proven ability to drive efficiency across markets.
Track record of delivering creative solutions (e.g., tellerless models, central transaction hubs, shared-resource strategies).
Mid- to senior-level consultant comfortable in both advisory and execution roles.
Canadian market experience preferred.
Previous work with major North American retail banks.

Start Date: October 2025

Duration: 3-6 months

Time Commitment: 2-3 days per week

Location: Primarily remote; occasional travel to Toronto
