PURPOSE

The Material Handler PDC is responsible for the timely and accurate picking, packing and staging of all dealer orders and/or the timely and accurate receiving of all inbound shipments including dealer returns.

This position reports to the Manager, PDC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Shipping outbound Orders - pick and sort parts as required using RF scanners, pack all orders, ship orders and Dangerous Goods via LTL and or PSS; maintain accuracy and productivity standards; achieve corporate and departmental objectives; assist with the loading of all trucks & trailers; adhere to all safety requirements including tow motor inspections, operation and accident reporting; maintain a clean and tidy work area; assist in training agency staff where required
Receiving inbound goods - offload all trucks and trailers as required; document all receipts in receiving system; stage all goods for unpacking and sorting; unpack and arrange for put-away; maintain accuracy and productivity standards; maintain all replenishment and part velocity reports; maintain cycle counts as required; meet corporate service objectives and productivity goals; Process and keep all dealer returns current; maintain core program as required.
Maintains Infrastructure - conduct daily tow motor inspections; report all damages or accidents to supervisor; maintain accurate part locations and inventory; maintain well organized shipping/receiving area in PDC, maximize efficiencies and space utilization in the PDC; maintain the cleanliness of the facility inside and outside where required including snow removal on fire exits and walkways; control security; lock doors at the end of the day; check chocks before loading or unloading the trucks.
Reporting/Meetings - report accurate statistics to supervisor to assist in productivity measurements; report all accidents immediately; report all defective equipment and unsafe operation to supervisor immediately; report loses, overages and damages to supervisors; attend meetings and give feedback where required
Process Improvements - continually seek and recommend process improvements that provide financial benefits and or time savings.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

3 years experience in distribution, logistics or supply-chain knowledge
Practical knowledge mainframe computer processing and popular PC-based applications
Familiar with barcode-RF technology
Full understanding of Ontario health and safety practices
Grade 12 or Post-secondary education in Logistics or equivalent experience
