Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer to join our team, with a focus on building data-driven applications, dashboards, and scalable solutions that support our research and AI development initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work across the stack, from designing intuitive user interfaces to developing robust back-end services, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on innovative projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications with a focus on data analytics and visualization.
Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces using React/Next.js as the primary framework, alongside other frameworks (Angular, Vue.js) when needed.
Develop and maintain back-end services and APIs, with a primary focus on Node.js, while also working with Python frameworks (Django, Flask, or FastAPI) as needed.
Integrate AI-driven components, including chatbot functionality and data-driven applications, into web platforms.
Implement and optimize database solutions (SQL and NoSQL) for storing and retrieving large datasets.
Build interactive dashboards and reporting tools using Business Intelligence (BI) software (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) and custom web solutions.
Collaborate closely with research and AI development teams to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
Ensure best practices in coding standards, testing, and deployment.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development workflows and technology stack.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with minimum of 1 year industry work experience.
Strong knowledge of front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React/Next.js preferred).
Strong knowledge of back-end development with Node.js and Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI).
Experience with SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
Experience with BI and data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
Familiarity with deploying applications to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and using containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Understanding of version control (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working with AI/ML applications or chatbots (preferred).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and collaboratively.
Must be located in or willing to relocate to the Greater Vancouver Area
Position Details
FTE: 0.6 (3 days/week)
Duration: Ongoing, with potential for expansion to 5 days/week (1 FTE)

Expected Starting Salary: Salary range for this role is $80,000-$110,000 CAD annually for a full-time position, pro-rated accordingly for part-time schedules.
