About The Role
Do you like to build efficient data platforms while coordinating cross-functional technical teams to solve complex challenges? The mission of DoubleVerify Scibids is to provide media buyers with fully automated buying strategies for their campaigns, leading to unparalleled performances for a minimum of human work.
The Data Engineering team is at the core of the Scibids products and is responsible for communication between Scibids and its partners. This role combines technical data engineering expertise with project management capabilities to facilitate collaboration across multiple teams and drive successful project outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
Data Engineering Tasks
Creation of ETL jobs to make our partners' data available to other teams, handling diverse data sources, including APIs and files in CSV, Avro, or Parquet format with several million rows
Technical implementation and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure
Technical Project Management & Coordination
Cross-functional Team Leadership: Facilitate collaboration between technical teams, including infrastructure, data science, security, and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions
Problem-Solving Facilitation: Work with technical teams to analyze complex challenges, facilitate brainstorming sessions, and guide teams through systematic problem-solving approaches
Stakeholder Coordination: Identify and bring together the right technical experts and resources for specific projects, ensuring optimal team composition for project success
Project Planning & Execution: Support implementation of small-scale migrations, updates, and infrastructure changes while ensuring smooth project execution and timeline adherence
Documentation & Compliance Management
Technical Documentation Review: Analyze and review technical specifications, requirements documents, and project documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
Compliance Oversight: Contribute to automated compliance and security initiatives, monitor audit logs, and support penetration testing activities while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
Process Documentation: Maintain project documentation, track progress, and ensure knowledge transfer across teams
Strategic Coordination
Serve as a liaison between multiple teams, coordinating work streams and ensuring alignment on project objectives
Build tailored automation solutions that enhance team efficiency and reduce manual work
Monitor project risks and proactively address potential issues before they impact deliverables
What We Are Looking For
Experience
1-2 years of experience in data engineering, along with project management experience or demonstrated skills
Project coordination experience working with technical teams or cross-functional groups
Technical Skills
Scripting: Proficiency in Python (preferred)
Database Management: General SQL knowledge (we mostly use MySQL and BigQuery)
Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure (we use Google Cloud Platform)
API Integration: Basic understanding of REST APIs and their use in data integration
Workflow Orchestration: Basic knowledge of (or ability to grasp) tools like Prefect, Airflow, GitHub Actions
Project Management & Coordination Skills
Team Facilitation: Ability to coordinate and facilitate discussions between technical teams
Resource Management: Skills in identifying and mobilizing appropriate technical resources for project needs
Process Management: Understanding of project lifecycle management and ability to track multiple workstreams
Documentation Skills: Strong ability to read, analyze, and create technical documentation
Soft Skills
Problem-Solving: Proactive attitude with strong analytical thinking and ability to investigate and resolve technical issues collaboratively
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders
Organization: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and coordinate across teams
