Job Specifications
We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Test Automation Specialist to join a high-impact delivery team supporting a major Data & Analytics transformation programme within a secure government environment. The project focuses on improving Self-Assessment (SA) registration risk analysis and compliance through enhanced automation, integration, and analytics on the SAS Viya 4 platform.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping automated testing strategies, frameworks, and CI/CD integrations across complex data-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate within an Agile Scrum Team, contributing to sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
Define and implement test automation strategies for SAS Viya 4 applications, including Visual Analytics (VA) and Intelligent Decisioning (ID).
Develop automated UI and integration test frameworks using tools such as Selenium, PyTest, or JUnit.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.) for consistent build validation.
Ensure comprehensive test coverage for data pipelines, APIs, and analytics workflows.
Design and maintain test data strategies and support environment provisioning.
Troubleshoot issues in containerized environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift) and ensure smooth testing in SAS Viya deployments.
Manage and report defects, progress, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
Partner closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and business analysts to align testing with business and technical objectives.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong experience in test automation for data and analytics platforms, ideally including SAS Viya 4.
Proven background in defining automation strategy and selecting suitable testing tools.
Hands-on experience with REST API testing, CI/CD integration, and Git-based workflows.
Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, or similar languages and associated test frameworks.
Solid understanding of data management, profiling, and integration testing in complex environments.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working within Agile delivery environments and driving continuous test improvement.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with SAS Viya components (VA, ID, CAS, RTENG).
Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Exposure to data ingestion, automation pipelines, and cloud-based analytics solutions.
