Role Overview:
We are seeking a Risk Mitigation Strategist & Compliance Legal Intern to support Meezo's legal and compliance team in developing robust frameworks that ensure adherence to fintech regulations, risk management protocols, and data privacy laws. This role is ideal for law students or recent graduates interested in fintech compliance, corporate law, and regulatory strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating legal documents and contracts, including partnership, employment, and vendor agreements.
Research and interpret financial regulations and compliance requirements applicable to UK fintech companies (FCA, GDPR, PSD2, PCI-DSS, etc.).
Support in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to ensure operational and legal compliance.
Assist in preparing internal policies for AML/KYC, data protection, and financial risk management.
Work with the founders to identify legal risks and provide actionable compliance solutions.
Maintain organised records of legal, regulatory, and compliance documentation.
Support the creation of compliance training materials and risk assessment reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing or recently completed a Law degree (LLB/LLM) or a related field.
Strong understanding of UK financial regulations, fintech law, and compliance frameworks.
Excellent research, drafting, and analytical skills.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently.
Prior internship or coursework in corporate law, compliance, or risk management is a plus.
