This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Part-Qualified Finance Analyst to join a highly reputable Retailer to support the team with a 12 month maternity cover.

As the Finance Analyst, you will be the link between the numbers and the trading decisions. You will support by turning sales, margin, stock and promo performance into clear insight that helps the Trading & Marketing teams move faster and make better calls.

We're looking for someone with a firm grasp of accounting processes and who has the ability to talk to the Marketing team in a language they understand. While you will be familiar with month-end management accounts, you will also have the commercial savvy that allows you to make recommendations on where they should be spending more or less money based on insightful analysis.

What will you be responsible for….

Responsible for producing monthly management accounts for Marketing including journal posting, balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis
Build relationships across the Marketing team to ensure they get the right financial analysis they need to make the right decisions
Produce bi-weekly analysis that clearly shows the return on investment from marketing spend (new customers recruited, sales and margin on first order, expected customer lifetime value and payback period)
Produce the quarterly Marketing cost forecast and annual budget, explaining clearly variances from previous plan
Ad hoc analysis as required such as assessment of success of promotions

Experience of month-end management within a complex business-facing area
Experience of general ledger accounting systems
A natural business partner with a 'lets go chat' attitude
Enjoy getting stuck in
Experience of working in a similar global, multi-site business
Experienced working in a fast-paced environment and thrive within
Keen attention to detail
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Highly numerate

Technical Skills

Intermediate or Advanced Excel skills
Ability to learn different operational and data retrieval systems
Strong academic achiever, borne out by successful results
This role would suit a part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA)
