You are responsible for the development and implementation of advanced data science and machine learning models to optimize operational and logistical processes within the bpost network.
You contribute to building predictive and optimization algorithms to address business challenges such as volume prediction, network design, dynamic routing, and resource planning.
You help define the strategic roadmap of data use cases, focusing on initiatives that create maximum value for the organization.
You translate complex data analyses into clear insights and recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You lead a team of data scientists and analysts, ensuring knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.
You work closely with business and IT teams to integrate data science solutions into bpost’s operational systems.
You are the driving force behind innovative projects involving data, AI, and machine learning, with a focus on value creation for bpost.
You act as an ambassador of a data-driven culture within the organization and serve as a strategic sparring partner for key projects.
Who are you?
You hold a master’s degree, engineering degree, or PhD in data science, operational research, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a similar field.
You have at least 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics, preferably in a logistics or industrial context.
You have excellent experience in people management, particularly in leading and coaching a team of data scientists or analysts.
You have strong expertise in data engineering, machine learning, and statistical analysis, and a good knowledge of Python. Knowledge of other programming languages and technologies is a plus.
You are familiar with various cloud platforms.
You have a strong analytical mindset and are able to translate complex analyses into understandable business insights and recommendations.
You communicate fluently in Dutch, French, and English.
