Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Back-End Developer to strengthen our core engineering team and scale the infrastructure behind our AI-driven biomedical platforms.
The ideal candidate combines technical depth, clear communication, and strong self-management, thriving in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary startup environment.
You will collaborate closely with the project leader and other engineers to design, deploy, and optimize systems that power Trustlife’s data and AI operations.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain APIs and back-end services supporting AI and data workflows.
Collaborate with front-end, and scientific teams to integrate new features.
Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes proactively.
Participate in weekly syncs, clearly reporting progress, milestones, and blockers.
Maintain concise technical documentation and consistent task tracking.
Key Technical Responsibilities
Data Infrastructure & Database Management
· Architect, maintain, and optimize SQL/NoSQL databases for large-scale biomedical datasets.
· Implement efficient indexing, retrieval, and caching strategies for AI workloads.
Cloud & Infrastructure Management
· Manage AWS and distributed international servers.
· Secure infrastructure with encryption, Cloudflare-based access, and Traefik routing.
· Ensure scalability, uptime, and performance for research-critical applications.
DevOps & Containerization
· Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Docker-based environments (Keycloak, PostgreSQL, etc.).
· Automate deployments and orchestrate containers across multiple systems.
Security & Compliance
· Configure firewalls (iptables), enforce least-privilege access, and monitor system integrity.
· Conduct periodic audits and maintain compliance with healthcare-grade data standards.
Automation & Scripting
· Build and refine Python or Bash automation scripts for data processing, deployment, and infrastructure management.
Requirements
· 3+ years of professional experience in back-end development.
· Expertise in Docker, AWS, Linux systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
· Strong knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and distributed architectures.
· Experience with Keycloak, Traefik, or Cloudflare preferred.
· Excellent communication and organization skills; able to track and deliver tasks autonomously.
· Proven ability to align individual work with shared project goals.
· BSc or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
· Strong debugging and performance-optimization mindset.
Nice to Have
· Experience in bioinformatics, multi-omics, or scientific computing.
· Familiarity with data governance or regulated environments.
· Curiosity for AI, healthcare, and computational biology.
