Role Overview:
Lead SAP solution portfolio management, financial oversight, and delivery of technical services.
Manage teams (internal and external), projects, and operations to ensure optimal SAP support for end-users.
Serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders and external vendors, including SAP support.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee a financial budget ranging from 1M to 3M.
Act as a strategic partner across all levelsfrom technical teams to General Management.
Manage SAP solution portfolios, ensuring delivery and project completion.
Lead internal teams and multiple external vendors, ensuring operational excellence.
End-to-end accountability for operational performance and user support across SAP environments.
Technical Expertise Required:
Extensive knowledge of SAP Business Suite modules (ECC, CRM, BW, IDM, GRC) and newer technologies (BW/4HANA, S/4HANA, BTP).
Expertise in SAP SaaS solutions: SuccessFactors, Ariba, IBP, IAG, C4C, AFC, and BTP Add-ons like QIR.
Deep understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and SAP development tools (ABAP, FIORI, BUILD, Integration Suite, Embedded Analytics).
Experience with both On-Premise and Cloud-based (S/4HANA PCE) SAP solutions including quality control (standards, templates, etc.).
Proficiency with SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) and SAP Cloud ALM for monitoring, change management, and transformation programs.
Operational & Leadership Skills:
Strong cross-functional collaboration with teams such as CISO, Enterprise Architecture, Networking.
Experienced in managing planned and unplanned outage communications using structured tools and strategies.
Proven capability in managing internal and external teams including:
Task allocation
Monitoring and escalation
Documentation and training
Conflict resolution and SLA management
SIAM practices and project tracking
Effective liaison with SAP support, including Technical Quality Manager interactions.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PM²).
Skilled in stakeholder management, resolving conflicting views, and finding acceptable solutions.
Conformity Criteria:
At least 5 years leading teams of 510 senior SAP technical experts.
Minimum 5 years managing SAP operations through offshore Basis teams (10+ persons).
At least 5 years hands-on in SAP Security (On-Prem, PaaS, RISE, SaaS).
5+ years hands-on experience with code optimization in ABAP, FIORI, Java, etc.
Minimum 5 years managing SAP apps on Windows/MS-SQL and SAP HANA platforms.
12+ years SAP Basis experience (installations, upgrades, security, operations, archiving, etc.).
2+ years managing Basis operations of S/4HANA on SAP RISE PCE with BTP/SaaS integrations.
Knowledge of public procurement and 3+ years leading offshore dev teams (up to 40 developers).
Experience across all IT levels in large-scale organizations (1000+ employees), including reporting to CxO level.
Languages:
Professional proficiency required in Dutch, French, and English.
