Job Specifications
About The Role
At Nomic, we're building the world's highest throughput protein profiling platform to help scientists extend lives. As a Process Development Associate on our Profiling Development team, you'll play a hands-on role in validating, deploying, and continuously improving our high-throughput workflows that power proteomic discovery at scale.
You'll work at the interface of biology, engineering, and data -- collaborating with teammates in Automation, Data, Software, and Operations. Bringing an engineering mindset to your work, you will directly contribute to building robust, reproducible processes that enable faster and more reliable insights into biology.
What You'll Be Doing
Run and Validate Profiling Workflows - Perform hands-on experiments to support the validation of new workflows and protocol updates. You'll follow SOPs, generate and document data, and work closely with scientists and engineers to ensure consistent performance across our high-throughput protein profiling platform.
Assist Troubleshooting and Continuous Improvement - Help investigate issues when they arise by supporting root cause analysis and experimental follow-up. You'll contribute to testing workflow changes aimed at improving throughput, data quality, and robustness.
Support Lab Operations and Documentation - Take part in daily lab activities such as reagent preparation, instrument upkeep, and consumables tracking. You'll contribute to maintaining well-organized records and ensure traceability through our LIMS and digital tools.
Help Deploy and Train - Assist in transferring validated protocols into production by participating in pilot runs, updating documentation, and supporting training efforts for operations teams.
About You
You enjoy hands-on experimentation with an engineering mindset - you think systematically about processes, seek out root causes, and look for ways to optimize.
You thrive in cross-functional teams and enjoy solving real-world problems with collaborative teammates.
You bring a methodical, detail-oriented mindset and are committed to delivering high-quality work.
You're energized by change and ready to help scale a platform that's transforming how biology is measured.
What You Bring
B.S. or M.Sc. in a bioengineering-related field or equivalent, with 1-3 years of relevant hands-on lab experience (academic or industry).
Familiarity with techniques such as ELISA, flow cytometry, bead-based assays, bio-conjugation & purification, spectroscopy, microscopy, PCR, or cell culture.
Strong communication skills and ability to document work clearly and completely.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus: Experience with liquid handler automation, conjugation chemistry, or multi-color flow cytometry.
Bonus: Experience handling diverse sample types or working with variable biological matrices.
About Nomic
Nomic was founded to make biology easier to measure--and to enable scientists to extend lives by making proteomics accessible, scalable, and routine. Our story began at McGill University, where our co-founders and early team developed breakthrough technology that would change the way proteins are measured.
Today, Nomic is powered by our proprietary nELISA(r) platform--an end-to-end technology that delivers high-throughput, quantitative, and affordable protein data at unprecedented scale. With the launch of Omni 1000, we are making the $50 proteome a reality, breaking down barriers that have limited the field for decades. For the first time, large-scale, quantitative proteomics is accessible to any scientist, supporting everything from drug discovery and translational research to AI-enabled therapeutic development.
Since our launch, we've partnered with leaders in pharma, biotech, and academia--including GlaxoSmithKline and the Broad Institute--and have profiled more than 500,000 samples across diverse applications. Our growth is fueled by over $60 million in investment from top-tier backers, including our recent $42 million Series B.
We're building a team of world-changers--scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers who believe that accessible proteomics can help shape the future of medicine. If you want your work to have real impact, we'd love to meet you.
