Overview

The Social Media Marketing Operations Specialist (see notes below regarding LA and NYC options) will oversee the execution and delivery of large-scale social media campaigns supporting high-profile entertainment launches across multiple regions.

This role focuses on social media operational excellence, campaign workflow management, and cross-functional coordination rather than creative development. The Specialist will manage asset deployment, vendor throughput, and quality assurance while ensuring all processes adhere to platform and security protocols.

The position involves managing both organic and paid campaigns across major platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X/Twitter. The role requires strong collaboration with vendors, media partners, and internal stakeholders to maintain flawless execution at scale. The Specialist ensures that global content is launched accurately, efficiently, and securely.

Two contract positions are open: one based in Los Angeles (remote flexibility for exceptional cases) and one in NYC area. Each contract runs for a minimum of 6 months, with potential extension up to 12 months.

Social Media Marketing Operations Specialist Requirements

4+ years of experience in Social Media Marketing, Media Operations, Ad Operations, or Entertainment Ad Tech.
Proven ability to manage high-volume campaign delivery and multi-platform content distribution at scale.
Deep understanding of social platform requirements, creative specifications, and content trafficking workflows.
Experience collaborating across internal teams and external agencies, ensuring timely, precise campaign deployment.
Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills; highly detail-oriented and adaptable.
Familiarity with social media security workflows, user access protocols, and content compliance processes.
Proficiency in third-party tools such as Sprinklr, Google Workspace, Airtable, Monday.com, Socialite, and 1Password.
Data-driven mindset with the ability to define, measure, and communicate operational performance metrics.
Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting updates and process improvements to cross-functional teams.
Agency background strongly preferred; entertainment or streaming experience a plus.

Social Media Marketing Operations Specialist Duties

Manage campaign execution and asset posting across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X/Twitter for multiple markets including the U.S., Canada, and LATAM.
Coordinate with platform representatives to resolve technical and time-sensitive deployment issues.
Execute planned and reactive content takedowns, ensuring compliance with brand and security protocols.
Oversee vendor operations including onboarding, training, quality control, and issue escalation.
Maintain and update workflow documentation, dashboards, and operational toolsets to track progress and performance.
Conduct quality assurance (QC/QA) checks on campaign builds, ensuring accuracy in metadata, creative assets, and publishing schedules.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate localization efforts, including translation reviews and asset variations.
Manage budget trackers and operational reporting, delivering regular updates on campaign health and team throughput.
Support troubleshooting across internal systems and vendor platforms in partnership with tech and tools teams.
Identify opportunities for workflow optimization, automation, and efficiency improvements to reduce bottlenecks and enhance scalability.
Provide daily and weekly status reports, summarizing campaign progress, vendor performance, and operational insights.
