The Role
Were looking for a Test Environment Analyst to support the setup, maintenance, and governance of complex testing and development environments across our data and analytics platforms. This role ensures stability, consistency, and availability of environments used for development, testing, and deployment within critical technology programmes supporting large-scale financial and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of non-production environments (Development, System Test, UAT, Pre-Prod).
Act as the point of contact between development, testing, release management, and infrastructure teams to ensure environment readiness.
Support environment refreshes, data loads, and release deployments across multiple concurrent projects.
Maintain detailed environment configuration documentation, schedules, and version control records.
Monitor environment health and proactively identify and resolve issues impacting test execution or data integrity.
Coordinate with the Test Data Management team to ensure appropriate test data is available and compliant with data governance policies.
Participate in environment planning activities, forecasting capacity and identifying dependencies across projects.
Work closely with DevOps and Platform Engineering teams to integrate environment management into CI/CD pipelines.
Support environment-related incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven experience in test environment management or configuration management within large-scale or regulated technology programmes.
Strong understanding of SDLC, environment lifecycles, and release management practices.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and virtualisation/containerisation (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker).
Familiarity with DevOps tooling (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, Ansible, Terraform).
Experience with data and analytics technology stacks, ideally within financial services e.g.:
Data platforms: Hadoop, Databricks, Snowflake, Teradata
Data integration: Informatica, Kafka, NiFi, Airflow
Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
Strong understanding of data refreshes, synthetic data, and masking principles.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple technical and business teams.
Desirable:
Previous experience in banking, payments, or financial services environments.
Experience with environment monitoring tools and ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow).
Understanding of automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
ITIL certification or familiarity with ITIL processes.
