Ribbon Administrator/Ribbon Operations Engineer
Location: London, 3 months rolling Inside IR35
We are looking for experienced Ribbon Administrators with strong operations and support skills to join one of our clients on a contract basis.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing and maintaining Ribbon (Sonus) SBC, PSX, and EMS platforms, ensuring high service availability and performance across our voice network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day administration and monitoring of Ribbon network elements (SBCs, PSX, EMS).
Conduct health checks, manage alarms, troubleshoot faults, and ensure network stability.
Implement configuration changes, software upgrades, and capacity expansions.
Manage SIP trunk configurations, routing, and policy rules on Ribbon systems.
Work with engineering and project teams for new service deployments and integrations.
Coordinate with Ribbon TAC and internal teams for incident resolution and root cause analysis.
Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and change logs.
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for critical incidents and planned maintenance.
Requirements:
Hands-on experience with Ribbon SBC 5k/7k/SWe, PSX, and EMS systems.
Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, VoIP, and routing policies.
Familiarity with Linux-based systems and basic Scripting (bash/Python preferred).
Experience in voice core operations, SIP trunking, or carrier InterconnecT environments.
Ability to troubleshoot complex signalling and media issues.
Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ribbon Certified Support Engineer (RCSE) or equivalent certification.
Knowledge of IMS, VoLTE, or IP voice core architectures.
Experience with monitoring tools (eg, Splunk, SolarWinds, Nagios).
ITIL certification is a plus.
