Dhitek is urgently hiring three Front End Designers to support the Government of Alberta’s Project. This remote contract role requires work from within Canada and involves designing user-centric digital services that align with GoA standards, accessibility principles, and agile delivery practices.

Scope of Services

Deliverables will evolve iteratively but include:

Creative, evidence-based front-end design solutions for digital service delivery
Prototypes, wireframes, pattern libraries, style guides, and build-ready design specifications
Design research plans and usability test reports
Accessibility analysis and recommendations
Participation in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)
Justifiable design decisions aligned with GoA standards and stakeholder priorities

Some travel within Alberta may be required for field research and user interviews.

Qualifications

Must Have:

4+ years experience designing and enhancing services via web and other digital platforms
4+ years experience developing UX artifacts (e.g., storyboards, scenarios, wireframes)
4+ years experience working in cross-functional Agile teams

Nice to Have:

4+ years experience with component libraries/design systems
4+ years experience exploring multiple design solutions per feature
4+ years experience designing for multiple devices (web, mobile, etc.)
4+ years experience applying accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG)
4+ years experience with design thinking and modern methodologies
4+ years experience using Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, etc.
4+ years experience working in a public sector digital office

Submission Requirements

Resume with detailed project experience (MMM/YYYY format)
All required experience must be described under the job/project where it was attained
Annotated portfolio uploaded as an attachment (no external links)
Three professional references (most recent listed first)
Must pass background check and complete mandatory GoA training
May require Enhanced Security Clearance or RCMP Top Secret Clearance depending on assignment

Working Conditions

Standard hours: Mon–Fri, 08:15–16:30 Alberta time
Must work from within Canada
Role is remote; some travel may be required
Candidate must provide their own equipment compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop

Contract Term: December 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026

Total Hours: 1,812.50 (based on 7.25 hours/day)

Extension Possible: Up to 24 months
