Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Senior Systems Engineer to support a large-scale defense contract located in Springfield, VA through 100% on site presence . The Senior Systems Engineer will implement, troubleshoot, and maintain AWS cloud systems, manage Linux/Windows environments, perform system monitoring, and integrate new technologies to ensure reliability and security for a large defense contract. Responsibilities of the Senior Systems Engineer include: * Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain AWS cloud systems (including C2S environment) and support NGA infrastructure * Install and configure operating systems and application software on Linux and Windows platforms * Monitor and report system health using tools like Elasticsearch Kibana and AWS CloudWatch * Manage IAM roles, policies, and access controls for AWS resources and S3 buckets * Integrate new technologies and migrate systems to improve reliability, scalability, and security * Collaborate across teams and provide technical support for cloud infrastructure requests, including scripting and automation tasks Qualifications of the Senior Systems Engineer include: * 5+ years of experience in systems administration (Linux and Windows) and cloud environments * AWS expertise, including C2S suite, IAM roles/policies, EC2, S3, CloudFormation, and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Kibana) * Scripting and automation skills (Python, Ansible, Terraform preferred) * Experience with container platforms (EKS/ECS) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) * Active TS/SCI clearance (with ability to obtain CI polygraph)
