Help build Canada’s next major marketplace — one that makes homeownership simple, safe, and stress-free for millions. This is a rare opportunity to join early—right after a major acquisition—and help shape the next generation of marketplace technology designed to make homeownership simpler, safer, and more resilient.
As part of Co-operators’ group, Custodia is scaling a national platform that connects homeowners with trusted local providers for everything from seasonal services to home management plans.
You’ll help establish the new foundation: designing services, data models, and APIs that will power a trusted national platform connecting homeowners with local professionals for every aspect of home care.

We’re building a trusted digital marketplace that connects homeowners with reliable local professionals for seasonal essentials — from snow removal and lawn care to exterior cleaning — making it effortless to manage home upkeep year-round. Originally founded to help seniors live safely at home, Custodia is evolving into a tech-enabled home management platform supporting Canadians at every stage of homeownership.
What You'll Do
Help architect and build an entirely new backend platform from the ground up using modern technologies - including AI tooling and cloud-native best practices .Design and build scalable, high-performance systems across the stack.
Lead development of core marketplace systems — quoting, scheduling, intelligent dispatching, payments, fulfillment — and growth features including referral loops and in-app transactions.
Collaborate across UX, Operations, and business teams to translate real customer needs into elegant, scalable technical solutions.
Leverage AI coding assistants, code generation, and developer copilots to accelerate delivery and maintain code quality.

Who You'll Work With
You’ll join a small, high-talent team led by early founders and builders from Ritual, where we scaled a global marketplace from startup to millions of users. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced UX designers and engineering leaders who have deep expertise in building intuitive, high-performing marketplace experiences.
At Custodia, you’ll work side by side with people who value craft, clarity, and customer experience — bringing the same rigor and creativity that scaled world-class consumer products to the mission of making homeownership simpler and more human.
What We're Looking For
• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience (Node.js, TypeScript, React)
• Strong background in API design, data modeling, and system integration
• Experience in SaaS or marketplace environments preferred
• Deep expertise at building scalable, reusable UI components and consistent patterns
• Ability to own complex projects end-to-end and deliver impact
• Enthusiasm for translating thoughtful designs into polished experiences
• Passion for purpose-driven technology that improves people’s lives
