The position at a glance

The Risk function is the Bank’s Second Line of Defense, providing independent review, challenge and communication on the risk profile generated by all business lines.

The Operational Risk Intern – Technology Expertise will support the Risk ORM ICT Americas team, focusing on the full spectrum of ICT risks (cybersecurity, IT availability & continuity, change management, data integrity, and outsourcing). The role provides exposure to how these risks are identified, measured and reported to senior management across a global financial institution.

In detail

Learn & Apply the Group’s operational‑risk policies, frameworks and procedures
Assist in second‑line challenge activities, including risk‐identification workshops, control assessments and root‑cause analysis.
Support Ongoing Projects that streamline the collection, aggregation and presentation of quantitative and qualitative risk data for senior‑management reporting.
Data Preparation & Analysis – extract, clean and enrich ICT‑risk data from multiple sources; develop dashboards and visualizations that highlight trends, exceptions and key risk indicators.
Document & Communicate findings in clear written reports and concise presentations for internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with first line IT owners to verify control effectiveness and monitor outsourcing arrangements.

The Strengths And Skills That Will Help You Succeed

– Students currently enrolled in a program in the following fields: Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science or Economics.

– ability to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions

– Knowledge in or coding language (Python, SAS, VBA) or data visualization tool (PowerBI, Tableau) will be a differentiating factor

– Strong analytical skills and good understanding of financial concepts

– Developed oral and written communication

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

– Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of English is required.
