Job Specifications

Lead Backend Engineer (Java/Spark, ETL, AWS)

Location: Onsite - McLean, VA (Primary) or Wilmington, DE Hybrid (Secondary)

Long Term

Note: MUST have prior COF experience

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years backend development experience with strong proficiency in Java.
4+ years building distributed ETL/data processing workflows using Apache Spark.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS serverless data services: Step Functions, Glue, Lambda, S3.
Proven ability to design secure, large-scale file ingestion and data transfer pipelines.
Deep understanding of batch processing, distributed computation, and data performance tuning.
Experience working in CI/CD-driven environments with automated testing and deployment.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical direction, standards, and quality without direct people management duties.
