Job Specifications

Hello World, We are hiring!

We empower our people to stay resilient and relevant in a constantly evolving world. We’re looking for people who are always searching for creative ways to grow and learn. People who want to make a real impact, now and in the future.

Does that sound like you? Then it seems like you’d make a great addition to our vibrant team.

Siemens Software, a business unit of the Siemens Digital Industries, is a leading global provider of software solutions to drive the digital transformation of industry, creating new opportunities for manufacturers to realize innovation.

About the role:

The Simcenter STAR-CCM+ team is seeking motivated software engineers to contribute to the development of the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ finite element solid stress solver. The finite element capability is a relatively new extension to the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ multi-physics solver family. The code, traditionally centered on finite volume methods, has been improved over several years to model contact behavior, incorporate shell formulations, and embrace sophisticated constitutive laws for inelastic materials, among other features.

What you’ll be doing:

Design and development of components for the solid stress finite element solver, such as
Advanced non-linear materials
Contact modelling
Advanced finite element technologies for shells, beams and connections/joints
Interaction with other Simcenter STAR-CCM+ teams
Work in large, geographically distributed teams

What you’ll bring:

Master, PhD or equivalent degree in mechanical/civil engineering, applied math or computer science
Proven experience in modelling non-linear materials, contact mechanics or shells/beams/connections
Proven strong C++ development skills
Experience in large-scale software development and object-oriented programming
Demonstrated knowledge of algorithms and techniques used in finite element simulations
Good working knowledge of finite element solid stress numerical methods
Experience with modern CPU optimization, vectorization and GPU programming is a plus
Excellent communication skills
