Purpose of the role
The role of President of global content sales is a critical role for BBC Studios. Reporting to the CEO, BBC Studios Global Content Studio, the role is accountable for driving the global content sales business, setting its strategic direction and ensuring it is run as a best in class content exploitation effort.
Accountabilities
Your Key Responsibilities and Impact:
Accountable for the performance and results of global content sales.
Lead a high performing Global Sales team, operating effectively and efficiently, securing market leading commercial outcomes in line with BBC Studios strategic objectives
Manage the P&L for global content sales in order to achieve targets as part of the Global Content Studio business plan and performance. Responsible for budgets and forecasting to promote sales and control costs.
Responsible for working with the CEO and Genre Managing Directors to deliver a strong Content Investment portfolio.
Create and own the content sales strategy for BBC Studios to ensure clear route to market plans which reflect nuances of BBC Studios’ relationships and deliver sustainable, commercial outcomes.
Manage investment cases through the genre investment process and seek appropriate local partners to be able to help build our business according to the genre and owned services growth strategies. The Sales organisation partners with the Genre MDs to provide market expertise and forecasting information used in the genre investment decision-making process.
Leads on assessing commercial value of titles across content sales and O&O platforms (gaining input from teams within GM&S and UKTV) in support of content investment decision-making
Acts as the primary interface with Genre teams on 3rd party IP acquisition, representing demands needs across Content Sales and O&O platforms (including UKTV, BBI)
Act as the company’s distribution expert, keeping abreast of all relevant media companies and their senior management and decision makers understanding the business landscape, market and technology environment trends in order to develop corporate reputation and exploit business development opportunities.
Drive and enhance our reputation in the market to enhance customer, producer and talent relationships
Leadership
Lead a matrixed team spanning multi disciplines and support functions, global route to market strategy and gathering demand from key market.

Essential Criteria
Your Skills and Experience
Proven senior leadership experience in global content sales and distribution
Demonstrable experience of holding full P&L responsibility for a large-scale global or regional content, media, or entertainment business
Proven experience in a senior role in content investment decisions, including assessing commercial value, influencing greenlight decisions, and shaping content portfolios
Experience of regularly operating at board, CEO, or equivalent senior executive level, influencing strategy and managing relationships with top-tier industry partners and decision-makers
Experience of leading and developing large, global, matrixed teams across multiple functions and territories, with direct accountability for performance and engagement
