THE OPPORTUNITY
Building Ontario Fund (BOF) is seeking an indefinite full-time Senior Financial Analyst – Business Performance & Analytics. (This job posting represents an existing vacancy.)
In this role, you’ll report to the Senior Manager, Special Finance Projects & Reporting and be accountable for supporting BOF’s strategic decision-making by delivering advanced dashboards, reporting pipelines, and data-visualization solutions that enable real-time, evidence-based decisions by senior leadership. This role enhances organizational insight by developing and maintaining financial and economic models, scenario simulators, and sustainability frameworks that quantify the public value generated by the organization’s investments.

Your day-to-day
Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting pipelines to track and report on organizational KPIs, providing real-time insights that enable the leadership team to make data-driven, evidence-based decisions.
Deliver advanced data-visualization and dashboard solutions to support the Finance and Investment teams.
Contribute to ad-hoc special projects that enhance financial insight and operational efficiency.
Support the delivery of high-quality, executive-level reporting packages, including dashboards, in collaboration with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.
Support the development and maintenance of long-term financial sustainability models for BOF, in collaboration with the FP&A, Investment Finance, and Investment teams.
Support the development of scenario simulators and data integrity controls to support executive planning.
Support automation and process efficiency initiatives within FP&A department and Finance portfolio.
Assist in implementation and continuous improvement of BOF's financial systems, including ERP, reporting tools and other IT system.
Maintain BOF’s financial data infrastructure, ensuring integrity across systems (ERP, CRM, Investment Management Systems).
Support the enforcement of financial data governance practices, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across ERP, CRM, and reporting systems to support reliable decision-making and compliance with internal and external standards.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of economic and financial models to capture public benefit of BOF’s investments.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education & experience
Degree in Finance, Data analytics, Business Systems, Economics or a related quantitative discipline, or the equivalent experience
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation preferred, but not required
Microsoft Power BI Certification preferred, but not required
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business, financial and/or data analytics roles.
Experience researching and quantifying the public value generated by government initiatives preferred, but not required.
Experience using financial/ economic modelling to evaluate capital projects, strategic initiatives, and policy proposals preferred, but not required
Experience with ERP systems implementation or optimization preferred, but not required
Experience with financial planning systems preferred, but not required
Experience in a government, Crown agency, investment firms or project finance and funding environment preferred, but not required
Knowledge & skills
Strong research skills to support the process of collecting, assessing and assimilating information necessary to determine the public benefit of BOF’s investments.
Excellent technical skills, including economic and financial modelling and dashboards,
Strong analytical skills, with a passion for process improvement.
Excellent communication skills to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and lead change.
Proven ability to translate complex financial results into compelling narratives.
Ability to analyze complex issues, synthesize findings and identify actions and recommend solutions, set priorities and operationalize plans.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Advanced proficiency in Power BI, or similar tools
